Camping + Rain
Or the Chocobros and what they do when it rains while camping.
- They’re not about to make Ignis cook in that.
- He reluctantly agrees to use the smaller camp stove in the tent (with the flap open to let the gas fumes escape) to boil water for Cup Noodles.
- Gladio doesn’t want to trouble him any more, so he throws some jerky into his. It was pretty good.
- They’re all fairly packed in the tent, but they’ve worked out a system.
- They sit along the same wall, in Ignis-Noctis-Prompto-Gladio order, and do quiet individual things for a bit.
- Noctis plays on his phone, Prompto adds filters to some photos, Gladio reads, and Ignis reviews Crownsguard intel.
- After an hour or so, they circle up and either play Kings Knight, play cards, or if Ignis got some important information they plan out their next moves. Most of the time it’s cards, though.
- If they get caught in the rain before camping, they all change into spare dry clothes in the tent.
- Prompto has a tendency to ruin shirts, so when this happens he’s almost always out a spare shirt.
- Gladio lends him one of his tank tops.
- Yeah, Noctis or Ignis can spare a shirt too, but Gladio always does it because the size difference is hilarious to him.
- Ignis and Gladio both make sure to (subtly) check Noct’s back when they change–see what the muscles are doing. He has a bad habit of hiding it when his injury flares up.
- If Noctis skips brushing his teeth on these nights, Ignis sighs but doesn’t force him.
- Nope, this time Prompto will. “Dude. I am not going to be trapped in this tent with you and your ass-breath. Nuh-uh.”
- Prompto tends to share more photos on rainy nights since they’re all in there anyway. He uses the tent to show them what bad lighting looks like.
- Gladio refuses to skip his nightly workout, so two of the guys sit on one side of the tent and the other one sits on his back while he does push-ups.
- Ignis sharpens his cooking knives while in the tent, but doesn’t maintain his daggers there–Noct can be sensitive to the oil he uses on the grips.
- In the morning, when the rain’s stopped, they all take some extra time to stretch from being cooped up all night.
